12 Days of Halloween War Robots Giveaway: Day 5

Happy Monday, everyone! I imagine it’s an especially happy Monday for @JongminSo on Twitter today, as they’re the proud winner of the Day 4 giveaway. That’s right, another Kumiho has been brought into the world- and long may the world tremble!

So I suppose folks might be interested in the Day 5 giveaway… a triple-pack of Scourges! Our trick-or-treat destination for today is the War Robots Players Page community on Facebook, one of the game’s largest and most influential communities on that platform.

So here’s how to enter!

  1. Find my post on the War Robots Players Page. It’s a closed group, so you’ll want to request access as soon as you can if you’re not already a member.
  2. Find my post for the contest. It’ll be posted under my personal Facebook account (Jay Kirkman)
  3. Send an email to MechSpecGiveaways@gmail.com with the following in the title:
    1. Your user ID
    2. The “Secret word” contained in the post on the Facebook group
    3. Your platform (iOS, Android, Gameroom, or Amazon)
  4. Only emails with that information in the subject line will be valid

This contest closes tonight at 11:00 PM (EST). A winner will be notified by email and announced in tomorrow’s post. And while you’re over there, have a look around! It’s a great place to get some raw… sometimes very rawfeedback on the game, and connect with others in the community.

Best of luck to all!

  1. Nooo
    I don’t have Twitter
    And I don’t have Facebook.
This contest is officially biased against those of us who choose not to engage in sns.
You should have a separate contest that only requires a War Robots life.
    Fan forever

      1. It’s a sad truth that these days, people who aren’t active in sns are kept “out of the loop” on most of the important things happening in the world. What can we expect when even our President communicates primarily through sns?
**Realizes patheticism of pitiful post, sulks harder**

      2. Actually as long as the subject is being brought up, War Robots offers several perks that are only available through social media users.
        Cue the music.

  2. Wasting time in this contest and giveways got nothing till now
Black market is better it atleast gives something
    Something is better than nothing

      1. I agree with you playing a game takes 7-8 minutes maybe sometimes 10 minutes for maximum 5 keys
but what about gold and silver
i may have not got dash bots and scourges from chest but always won a better amount of Au(min 40au from bronze chest)
but i wasted my whole day for seeing whether my request is accepted
and they accepted it in midnight holy shit!!!!

      2. I think it’s important to remember that these people are volunteers, Ravi. They’ve vetted literally hundreds of people today. If anyone’s at fault here, I’ll take the blame. In hindsight, I should have coordinated with their admin team better to prepare for a flood of applicants.

I’m not sure how it’s possible to “waste a day” on this, but ultimately it is up to you to decide whether continued participation in our contests is a valuable use of your time.

  3. Btw, if you got another email today, that’s for my actual in game ID, I goofed and did my in-game name instead of my ID
    Hope you’re okay with that!

    1. First, vocabulary, please. There are young children that may be reading this blog.

Second, as Dredd stated, giveaway entries are optional. Even if you have to pay, why complain that you didn’t win anything since that you decided yourself to gamble? You can’t expect to win something good every time that you play with luck. I had a Butch from a silver chest before, but I can’t expect to win again every time, the odds are against it.

There is about 100-200 participants in this giveaway with rough estimation, but only a few posts here so there’s more than the 40 or so commenters. My calculations are that you have about 0.5%-1% chance of winning something during the giveaway, and 6%-12% chances of winning something if you participate each day. These are outstanding odds for a free giveaway, given that the only thing you need to do is to spend a minute completing forms or emails.

WARNING: if you don’t like maths, there will be a severe headache coming for you if you read the remainder of this comment. Please refrain from continuing your lecture if you have mathemaphobia.

If we chart the prizes to their prices, let’s say Scourges are 1500Au, Kumihos 3500Au, Haechis 7000Au and Bulgasari 14000Au, so it would be 3x(3×1500)=13500Au for Scourges, plus 3×3500=10500Au for Kumihos, added with 3×7000=21000Au for Haechis, without forgetting the Bulgasaris at 3×14000=42000Au. All that added together will make up 13500+10500+21000+42000=87000Au value been given away, for free. To average the prize’s value, let’s divide 87000 into 12 (the number of prizes), which would make 87000/12=7250Au value each day. If we multiply the average prize value with your daily chance of actually getting one (0.5%-1%), it would give us 7250×0.005-0.01=36.25Au-72.5Au, so statistically, every time that you participate in one of the twelve giveaways, you’re getting 36.25 to 72.5 gold. Not bad for two minutes at the most loading a link, then sending an email. 😊

      1. It would be interesting to see the number of entries after the last day giveaway closes. Dredd says “hundreds of requests” in the update, so it is likely 200? players (add in more for those with more then one WR account and subtract for those who refuse to have a facebook account). Perhaps Dredd can reveal the numbers after it ends?

      2. Are you really talking mathematics
you say we are getting 32 -80 Au daily
multiplying the prize of bot into our winning percentage
        is it a joke
you certainly haven’t studied probability in maths
the outcome always is favourable to one not to all

      3. Oh, you replied. Looks like you’re more interested in this giveaway than you think.

The fact that you highlighted is exactly the reason that I added “statistically” to “every time that you participate in one of the twelve giveaways…”. On the long run, you’ll end up winning prizes that will “pay off” for the Au that you “earned” all the times that you entered a contest. We’re talking about long-term, not short term.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but check your own calculations before.

  4. Hey dredd77, my request hasn’t been accepted yet. I mean it’s quite demotivating as i don’t even have shot to win this. Eventhough there’s nothing wrong in my side

      1. Well if its not a problem
could you add me that way to.

Would be nice to get 2 scourges

Curious about the secret word though ^^

  5. Congratulations, Jongminso!

My request should be pending, I’ll see if I can participate in this one. Your contest giveaways are quite entertainning, will they become even more interactive in the future, when this community would a grown a lot?

      1. Making us run around to look for passcodes is very interactive compared to regular giveaways, it’s just like an online treasure hunt. I was wondering if the future giveaways would be in a even more interactive form, such as a week-long bingo match (I’m a bit old school on entertainment side), or that the passcodes get harder to find, and can only be found with a series of clues. (Example: Clue 1: It was the scrapped prototype of the Hydra. Clue 2: It had a similar firing mode to that of the EE Aphid. Clue 3: It’s name will be bug-related. Answer/passcode: the SRM Swarm, the Swarm or just Swarm.)

The giveaways are surprisingly fun to participate in, although that all we have to do is to click a link.

  6. I am from California stuck in China for work .. Facebook is not allowed here .. super jealous of all the new weapons in robots and I have no idea how to get access to them

I have set the emails that were available without Facebook but I have won nothing haha

Not complaining I am happy to play and don’t need prices to keep my loyalty like whenever I spin the wheel I never win anything but 2 green keys or 1 green key or 5000 silver ha ha

    Still happy to spin

I do wish to be and have a larger part of this community

I don’t have any friends that play War robots so I am also excluded from those types of rewards

I do wish there was an easier way to make friends in this community maybe I just do not know how

Here in China social media is often hard to use or outright banned

I like my gameplay style I am averaging over 500000 damage 4+ kills and about 4 beacons per match

I would like to end this by saying thank you to everyone involved and my life is happier because of all of you

    1. I do agree with 420 on this one; I don’t have any “friends” (real or sns) to join ranks with to earn those extras.
An entire nation-state that has banned Facebook? It’s time for me to move…

  7. I agree
but playing the game itself is a voluntary act and yet people are playing and complaining.
I never uttered a word for your all previous contest but this one task broke my patience.
By the way thanks for accepting the request and extending the deadline.

  8. Dude, I sent join yesterday and still not accepted 😦

Maybe some other kinds of tasks instead of …joining here and there? As you guys saw by now, many people simply don’t use some or all SNS.

    1. With utmost respect, I disagree. The entire point of this giveaway is to introduce folks to the wide world of War Robots online through a trick-or-treating theme. If for any reason some options don’t appeal to some folks, that’s perfectly okay! Not every contest has to be for everyone.

It’s worth noting that we do mix it up on our giveaways. This time it’s trick-or-treating, last time it was a short writing contest, and next time it’s gonna be…

…ooops! Almost gave it away. 😀 But stay tuned, we’ll be looking to give out some Embers and Inquisitors!
